If you have a trendy style personality, it goes without saying that you like to wear the latest fashion trends, often wearing several trends at the same time.
You like to update your closet and your outfits by adding the latest fashion trends to your existing pieces.
Styles for the trendy style personality
Clothes for this style are hard to define as the trends change every season. Fashionistas will need to follow the trends through magazines, blogs, social media and the latest fashion shows to know what to look for in stores.
You may incorporate other style personalities into your look but whatever you wear will usually have one element which is absolutely bang-on-trend and which is THE piece to own this season.
But you may well find that while the trendy style personality is your dominant style, you may be drawn to others too.
This style can be a lot of fun and very fashion forward, but will look outdated very quickly so you are likely to be constantly thinking about updating your closet.

You also like to window shop for ideas, even if you aren’t buying anything.

You already have your eye on the next season
You want to be the first to wear the new trends, so you always have your eye on the next season’s trends as soon as they hit the runways.
These trends shape the way you shop the high street. You’ll be one step ahead.
Celebrities with a trendy fashion style who wear the latest fashion trends
It’s no surprise that many celebrities have a trendy style personality because they often have access to stylists or are given, or can borrow, the latest pieces from designers.
While some celebrities have a different style such as classic or architectural, there are many who could be described as having a trendy style personality.
Even those who prefer a different style will usually have elements of the trendy style personality in order to update their look each season.
Celebrities with a trendy style personality include Gwen Stefani, who combines trends with an urban edge, Victoria Beckham, who mixes trends with a classic style and Madonna, who definitely falls under the trendsetter category.
Wearing trendy clothes with other styles
Just as celebrities combine a trendy style personality with other style personalities, you will probably find yourself drawn to another type of style.
So, you may want to add the latest trends to your personal style.
For instance, your secondary style may be classic, romantic, eurochic or architectural.
Trendy clothes – tops for the trendy style personality
When it comes to choosing tops, you know that a new style can update the pants and skirts you already have in your closet.
Trends seen on the catwalks for 2020 include tops with interesting sleeves and Victorian-style prim collars, as well as preppy shirts (particularly in pale blue) monochrome looks mixing black and white, metallics and sequins worn as day wear.
Sarah (above) teams classic elements with trendy. Her wrap top is bang on trend because of its metallic sheen and wrap style, but it’s also very timeless, while her jeans shape and the raw hem is also a trend this season.

You are likely to have a collection of coats already in your closet which are always on trend, such as a trench coat, an asymmetrical style or a moto jacket.
To these, you will usually add one new piece each season. This season, trends included long trench coats, oversized jackets, plaid and capes that you can put your arms through.

Pleated skirts are a big trend now, and gold is also a huge trend for the next season, so you could combine the two. The midi length continues to be on trend for 2020 and other key looks were tropical or animal prints as well as asymmetric detailing.
As a trendy style personality, you will be happy mixing contrast levels, so you will be comfortable mixing your satin skirt with a sweater and sneakers rather than saving it for more formal occasions.
Or, you might wear a leopard print dress with a boyfriend blazer and brogues, for example, rather than with formal heels.

Not me at all.
This was fun I wear a lot of different styles I Love blazers and vintage is the best for me I change up a lot on my looks .
Some things were not for me, but the coat with the fur was. I just purchased a Jackie O style coat in mauve with fur the other day, but it wasn’t me 100%. I also love bohemian. I am just all over the place. Chanel style jackets to blue jean jackets (vintage), major love for Trench coats lol
Totally me. 🙂
I have to keep retaking the quiz because there are too many questions which either do not have my answer at all, so I have to make the best guess available or I need to answer in more than one way.
Today, i got Rock ‘n ‘ Roll and Trendy. I like the suggestions for both, most of the way. But, I can’t possibly be trendy because I would still be wearing and rocking the trendy pieces from that wardrobe 15 years from now! lol
I liked some but a lot was not me at all.
I never thought of myself as trendy, but now reading through the description, it is dead on. I usually gravitate toward bohemian or romantic types of clothing, but I have a lot of business casual and some of the ruffle type shirts. And I have a ton of skirts and I don’t follow the hem line depending on my weight. Thanks for the insight!
Good points in defining the trendy style personality – not an easy task, but this is spot on. From the examples above, I find Psyche’s outfit fantastic, and it suits her so well!
Thank you! I never thought I was trendy, but it kind of looks like my closet now. I like your ideas.
Nope – not me at all!
