Best platform sandals
Possibly the biggest shoe trend for spring and summer last year was the platform.
And this trend is definitely not going anywhere for summer 2019. Designers including Jil Sander, Gabriela Hearst and Phillip Lim featured platform sandals in their runway shows.
Raised soles are on everything from sandals to sneakers and give you a modern vibe while elongating your legs. Wear with wide-legged pants for a totally on-trend look.

best women’s Black sandals
While black can sometimes look ‘heavy’ for spring and summer, when it’s in sandal form, you can get away with it, as you’ll have some bare feet showing through.
Plus, black can add a dressier vibe, taking you effortlessly from daytime sightseeing to dinner.
I love this new sandals style from Comfortiva. The wood-effect low wedge adds interest while the perforated leather should keep you cool.

Nothing says summer like white shoes! As well as being all over the runways from the likes of Prada, celebrities and trendsetters are also wearing everything from white boots to white sneakers and sandals.
Just like blacks, or metalics, they’re a fantastic neutral which will go with anything in your closet.
This pair from Naturalizer tick this season’s trend for toe post styles. They also have a cushioned footbed for extra comfort.
In the same way that nude shoes go with everything and make your legs look extra long, silver shoes can add a touch of the unexpected to a summer outfit, whether you style with cropped jeans or a beach kaftan.
Investing in a pair of metallic sandals could provide an update to other pieces you already have in your closet. Silver shoes are great for adding some oomph to plain basics.

Sandals with lots of straps were a key trend on the spring / summer 2019 runways.
Designers including Marni, Jacquemus and Giambattista Valli all showcased sandals which had lots of straps, or which had long straps designed to be wound around the ankle.
Just be careful if you want to elongate your legs though as straps at the ankle can make them look shorter.
These Louise et Cie strappy sandals are new for this summer. They have a zip at the back, so they’re easier to get into than many other sandals with lots of straps.
Plus the gold buckles down the center add a luxurious touch.
Closed toe sandals
If you can’t bear to get that pedicure just yet or you are self-conscious about your feet or toes, then closed toe sandals can be a great option.
You might want to hide bunions, for example.
Opt for espadrille styles or shoes in pale shades or metallics to ensure you still look summery even without your toes on display!

Below I’m wearing it with a feminine outfit. I love how the bulky wedges make this outfit a little less girly and a bit more edgy. The shoes add extra height and are still super comfortable.
Since they are perforated and made of suede they feel cool to wear in summer.
They come in all kinds of colors too and I know several women who have this shoe in multiple colors.
