Well, maybe not totally bohemian, but this outfit gives me a bohemian feel.

This is a t-shirt from Stella McCartney’s sport collection for Adidas again and it looked great when I bought it. It was completely crumpled up and looked like an Issey Miyake t-shirt. I always fall for fabric that has been treated such that the material looks all elastic. Of course I knew if wouldn’t last. Although this t-shirt does not get ironed and I scrunch it and put it as a knot in my cupboard, you will still never get the effect of the original t-shirt.
Still, I was smart enough to buy it in the smallest size available. I had learned from previous garments with a similar treatment that they lose that crumpled elasticity fast and then become huge. This t-shirt is still very wearable and I like the color and the back of the t-shirt. Above it is combined with an old demin skirt from Sportsgirl. I have been more into A-line skirts the last couple of years, but now I’m in pencil skirt mode again. Good that I don’t abide by the rule that you need to throw away clothes that you haven’t worn for one year…
This skirt had the same crumpled treatment. Again it has faded, but you still get the idea a bit. Paired with the Alldressedup necklace, Zara hat and a lose cardigan it has become quite the relaxed and casual bohemian outfit.

Love the sandals and I love crumpled fabric.
Here is a hint on how to keep it crumpled. Twist it while still damp, then put it in a piece of a panty hose leg. Let it dry that way. The panty hose leg will keep it crumpled tightly as it dries. It works for me anyway.

Your bohemian expression looks great on you. I don’t follow the rule of discarding an item after not wearing it for a year either! If i wear a piece of clothing or an accessory once in 20 years it’s a keeper!
As long as it still fits and doesn’t fall apart, it’s a keeper. All styles return after 7 years!

I love denim skirts and wear those as soon as the weather is warm enough for shorts. But the second skirt is probably more of a bohemian look. I had one skirt that started out crinkled. I really liked it but after it was laundered it never was the same (no matter how many times I folded and knotted it) so I gave it away in frustration.
My favorite thing about your shirt is that the design is on the back. That makes it different and stylish. I think all of your accessories are very cool. I adore the purple hat.
I’m very careful with buying wrinkled clothes now. In fact, I usually don’t buy them anymore. They never last and the shape is just never the same again.
Okay – “demin skirts are coming back in fashion” and “all styles return after 7 years” – we need more information on these statements. 🙂 I have not seen anything on denim skirts (colors, shape) and is there a “7 year” rule? Lately I really have felt regret over some items I have donated in the past that are “in” again – like a really cool pair of print pants I had and midi length floral dress. I miss a pair of platform heels too that would be perfect with flared jeans. Most stylists tell you to get rid of the old to make room for the new but I am rethinking this.
Oops that was actually a mistake. (perhaps wishful thinking…). Denim sHirts are getting popular again not skirts, although that trend will not be for me. 7 years is perhaps a bit too quick, but 7 is usually a number when things turn around. For me, I usually need a change after 7 years. This is actually an interesting topic that merits a whole article. Thanks for bringing it up Suzanne. I will write my thoughts down on this topic soon.
LOL! Denim shirts! I actually just bought one from Ralph Lauren that can be worn with long or short sleeves (there are tabs and buttons). Then Nordstrom printed an article about 4 ways to wear a denim shirt and now I am even more excited about it. But I do like denim skirts too.
I can not wait to read your article about clothing cycles. I am all over the place with my feelings about this. Keep everything or get rid of the “old” to make way for the new?
I don’t think I have ever owned a denim shirt. We’ll see if I warm up to them. I have already written the article, but please don’t have too high expectations! Just my personal thoughts….
