Oh New York… How I miss you!
Even though I’m happy to be back in Singapore again with my family (even though the terrible haze of the last month was no fun at all) I have such fond memories of my time in New York and I miss the buzz and excitement.
In my last week there, dutch streetstyle photographer Misja B joined me and we spent some lovely time visiting the Museum of Modern Art and wandering the streets of New York. My energy levels had suffered a bit though. After travelling and meeting new people non-stop my body required more rest.
Therefore in my last few days, my dressing was all about being comfortable.
Attentive readers will have spotted the Fly London wedges again. I wanted to wear them everywhere these last few days so was basically looking for outfits that suited them.
As had become the coincidental custom for my meetups with Denton and his wife Teresa, our outfits were perfectly coordinated again which makes for some lovely photographs.
I took the opportunity to wear my newly thrifted silk pants(as mentioned in my article on the best consignment shops of New York) together with a new top from Stella Carakasi. An older necklace by COS and a new clutch from Cleo & Patek completed the look.
Our diner spot for the evening was the Lincoln Center Theater, a terrific spot in New York where we had the most delicious meal.
Teresa looked terrific in her designer dress.
And a final photo of Misja B and myself. 2 dutchies in New York!
Outfit details Sylvia: Pants Shanghai Tang (thrifted), top, Stella Carakasi, shoes Fly London (also available on Amazon), Bag, Cleo & Patek (similar), bracelets Sistaphyre, necklace Cos
Thank you Denton & Teresa and the many others for welcoming me to New York and make it such a fantastic experience. You can be sure that I will be back!
Do you love New York? What are your favorite places to visit in New York?

I think you look so lovely all three. How extraordinary that you arrive wearing coordinated colours the whole time haha. Misja was looking good too.
A very co-ordinated and stylish trio! I’m sorry I didn’t get to meet Sylvia and Misja when I was in New York – I would have just missed both of you. I did get to meet Denton and Teresa, and they are such nice folks!
I time my visits to New York to coincide with the Fall Manhattan Vintage Show, which I enjoy, and always look forward to seeing the exhibits at the Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
You guys all look great.
Thanks Sylvia, this was so much fun! Hopefully you will come back soon! And any other 40+ readers, feel free to contact us if you come to NYC, we will take photos!
Teresa is wearing:
Oscar de la Renta dress via Second Time Around
A Judith Lieber pocketbook via Amuze.com
Judith Lieber shoes (apparently they made shoes for only a short time, but beautiful leather) via therealreal.
And a Fitbit. Why I don’t know.
I had to look that up… “fitbit”. Learned something else. Those shoes are so good!!! They steal the show although dress and bag are beautiful too.
Lovely to read Sylvia. I also have many sweet memories of New York, our diner together with Teresa and Denton was one of the highlights!
When I look at those photos now it’s funny indeed to see the simular colors of our outfits.
By the way, my trousers are by AgnesB, the blouse by IKKS, shoes &OtherStories, clutch by Fred de la Bretonniere.
Warm greets
Misja
Everyone got the grey and black memo I see : )

Wait, there’s a lot of blue too!
