So many wonderful outfits were shared in our private community for day 1 and it has confirmed my belief that everyone should have a pair of well fitting white pants in their closet for summer!
Let’s get started with outfit 2
This is sporty outfit with a funky vibe. This particular bomber jacket is definitely the most fashionable item in the capsule. Feel free to replace this jacket with a more muted version though or change it into another short jacket (like a denim jacket) that suits your style.
2 other staples in the capsule are chinos and a white shirt.
Both can be so versatile for all kinds of situations. I bought mine especially for my trip to South America in the summer as they are super comfortable and will go with almost anything.
Chinos
Chinos with a bit of stretch are super comfortable and they are great for casual occasions. A boyfriend style model looks the most relaxed.
- Zara
- Asos
- Eileen Fisher
White blouse
Just like white pants, a white blouse or top is very versatile and can act as a great base or be worn on its own. Although the first blouse looks the most like the blouse I own, mine is actually cotton. Any white top will do and it’s up to you if you prefer a collar or not. Be sure to pick a top though that is easy to layer but can stand on its own.
(Printed) bomber jacket
This is definitely your most ‘showiest’ and trendiest item. It is aimed at giving the capsule that extra spark. However, if you are not into bold prints or prefer an outer layer that is more neutral, feel free to pick a jacket in a more neutral color and without print. A shorter jacket is best as it’s easier to layer and wear with your skirt.
The jacket is an unusual choice for myself as the fabric is not 100% natural, is pretty shiny as had print. Still, I love the particular colors and print of this jacket and it provided the element of FUN that I like to add to my style. Bomber jackets suit many outfits and are a great quick cover up for the cooler days in summer or when you spend a lot of time in air conditioning.
If you are creating a capsule wardrobe I would encourage you to add at least one FUN or fashionable item to it or an item that is perhaps a little bit different from what you normally wear.
On this day I chose a very relaxed vibe with the blouse untucked. I think this would look good too (and slightly dressier) tucked in with a belt added.
I chose to wear fancy brogues with my outfit but this outfit will look equally good with other flats or sneakers. Shoes are a great way to dress up or down this outfit.
I forgot to wear a bracelet and bag here, but this jacket will come back in other outfits where I’m showing all accessories.
