Stylish weekend outfits that mix high-end with high street

How do you typically spend your weekend? You probably try to pack a lot into those two days. You might meet friends and family, go for a walk, go for dinner, exercise, and so many more things… Therefore, your weekend wardrobe has to be very multifunctional. I’m going to imagine a busy weekend for you and put together a capsule of stylish weekend outfits that you can wear to most occasions.

Below, you’ll find 9 different weekend outfits, all put together from the collections at Nordstrom who is sponsoring this post. These outfits will take from weekend walks to gallery visits, dinner to a night at the movies. I’ve deliberately taken a mix of designer items with high street brands to give you an eclectic, timeless look. If you’re looking at designer items, think about cost per wear and what you will wear time and time again, while you can use your high street items to pick up on latest trends.

Weekend outfits: farmers’ market

If you’re lucky enough to have a farmer’s market, or fresh produce market near you, it can be a great place to spend a morning. You can grab a cup of coffee and stock up on healthy food to cook throughout the weekend. In terms of what to wear, a lot with depend on the weather.

If it’s spring, then a midi or maxi dress can be a good option. Opt for a jacket in case it gets cool, and be sure to take a bag big enough to fit your purchases in. You’ll probably want flat shoes if you’ll be doing a fair amount of walking.

The jacket is from one of my favorite jeans brands, KUT from the Kloth, while the dress is a wallet-friendly option from Caslon. The bag and shoes are both designer options. For an alternative to the Saint Laurent bag, you could try this black straw tote. These star feature sneakers will give you a similar look to the Golden Goose option below.

Gallery or museum weekend outfits

Perhaps you’ll be spending a few hours at a gallery or museum at the weekend? Opting for a chic, timeless outfit will work perfectly. Add a little edge to your look with a moto jacket. You’ll be walking, so a pair of flat shoes will be perfect to ensure you can look at everything you want to without getting uncomfortable.

The Veronica Beard designer jacket (below) is an absolute classic that you will be able to wear for many years. For a similar look, equally timeless look, you could also try this classic notched collar blazer. If you want a high street alternative to the Ferragamo bag, a good choice would be this Coach bucket bag which is more of a mid price option or this studded black tote.

A swish evening meal

If you have dinner plans, then choosing a beautiful top and a great pair of pants or jeans is a failsafe option. Look out for luxurious fabrics for your top as this is what will be noticeable most of the time while you sit at the dinner table.

As you’re heading for a high-end meal out, I’ve given you a selection of classic high-end options here. Plus jewelry and shoes that are at the more affordable range. A different choice for the dress could be this faux wrap mini dress or Ted Baker wrap top. For the leather jeans, you could also choose coated jeans.

Weekend walks

If you’ve been out for dinner on Friday or Saturday night, perhaps you want to walk off some calories with a weekend walk. Choose comfortable, stretchy clothes, and a good pair of walking shoes. If it might be chilly, you can think about adding a gilet to keep you warm.

The gilet is Lauren by Ralph Lauren, the more accessible option from the designer. So, you still get a designer look without such a high price tag.

Family dinner

If you have lunch or brunch plans, or perhaps a meal that isn’t hugely formal, you can choose a midi dress that you can easily dress up or down to suit the occasion. You could pair with sneakers or heels depending on where you are going. You can always swap the trench coat for the denim jacket that I showed you earlier.

I’ve added a little designer touch with the Ganni beret below and the Loeffler Randall bag. Both aren’t too expensive if you think about cost per wear, but if you would like a different choice of bag, you could also look at this Reiss clutch.

Night out with friends

Perhaps you prefer to dress in a slightly edgier way when you are out with friends and you can have fun with fashion together. The dress below is a two-in-one that is actually a slip dress with a short sweater to wear over the top. You could get a different look with this by wearing a t-shirt under the dress.

The dress below is a good price, I think, especially as you get both a dress and jumper, while you could choose the designer alternatives I’ve highlighted in the outfits above if you want other choices for the rest of this look.

Shopping trip

Maybe you’re intending to treat yourself with a little trip to the shops and choose something new to add to your closet this weekend? Then keep it smart-casual. Choose flat shoes so you can browse, and opt for a crossbody bag so you can keep your hands free to take a look at your potential purchases.

I’ve opted for a selection of high street options for this outfit, as well as the Golden Goose sneakers you saw earlier. If you do want to introduce one designer element to your outfit, a scarf can be a good choice as it sits front and center so is something most people notice. The scarf here is Alexander McQueen. For a similar look, you could also opt for this Nordstrom silk scarf.

BBQ

If you’re spending some time at an outdoors meal, perhaps a barbecue or a picnic, then you could, of course, choose the bootcut jeans that I’ve shown you earlier. A loose midi skirt is also a comfortable option. If you need to add warmth, you can opt for a sweater and a scarf. You could also add the denim jacket from above if you find it is still a little chilly.

If you’re heading out in the evening, you can then swap the sneakers for heels or pointed flats, and add the white blazer. Another stripe sweater choice is this Nordstrom collared sweater.

The movies

Maybe you’re heading out to the movies to see an old favorite or a new release. The cinema can sometimes get cold if the air-conditioning is turned up. So, I’d choose a sweater and an extra layer in case you need to add some warmth.
