The Labor Day Sales might be best known as the time to pick up furniture and tech bargains.
But there are still plenty of amazing fashion and beauty sales happening this weekend, just before Labor Day, which falls on Monday, September 2nd this year.
So, if you are planning on a little retail therapy as well as spending time with your nearest and dearest this weekend, here are the best labor day sales to look out for.
Don’t forget to let me know in the comments below the article if you manage to bag a bargain you love.
Labor Day Sales
Labor Day has its origins in protests against long working days. Now, it’s a time to spend with loved ones if you can as well as being one of the best times to shop during the year.
Many stores have heavy discounts. My advice would be to take a look at the trends for fall 2019 and see if you can pick up some pieces which will take you through winter and fall.
Or, you could look at these sales from another perspective and pick up summer pieces that you will use now (and for summers to come).
If you’re looking for big items like appliances or a bed, for example, or you have your eye on the latest piece of technology, Labor Day is probably the sales event for you.
You’ll generally find discounts of anything between 20% and 80% off.
Here is what to expect from some of the best clothing and accessories stores with labor day sales.
amazon labor day sales
You’ll generally find a lot of tech and electrical products in Amazon’s Labor Day sales, but there are also plenty of discounts on fashion, particularly on Amazon’s own fashion brands.
Amazon hasn’t revealed exactly what will be on sale over the Labor Day weekend yet, but you can always look at the fashion deals and discounts to check out sale prices and lightening sales.
When I checked, there were deals for dresses under $30 and scarves for under $10, but you’ll find something different in this section each day.
Of course, you might want to treat yourself to some new technology too. Amazon already has early discounts on the Amazon Echo Dot speaker.
Nordstrom summer sale
The Nordstrom anniversary sale may be legendary, but its little sister, the Nordstrom Summer Sale is still definitely worth a look.
Nordstrom’s summer sale runs through August 30th through to September 8th.
You’ll find 40% off on many pieces across all departments.

Looking to invest in some new, figure flattering denim? Now could be a good time. NYDJ is set to have a deal from August 29th through September 3rd where you get 20% off if you buy two pieces and 30% off for three or more.
NYDJ ‘Alina’ skinny jeans, from $109.00 to $78.98
Have you discovered Reformation yet? Concerned about the conditions some workers have to face in some parts of the world, Reformation decided to do the responsible thing and build its own factory in Los Angeles where its pieces are made.
I’ve never seen a sale at Reformation to date, so to have 70% currently is a big deal.
Many pieces are aimed at young women, so you’ll find plenty of mini styles in the same way you would at the likes of Topshop. But there are also lots of stylish flattering options for 40+ women.
Reformation ‘Denise’ dress, from $125.00 to $62.50
Madewell has up to 75% off in its sale, which is on now, with discounts on certain pieces offered through to October 31st.

Lifestyle brand Anthropologie has an extra 30% off sale pieces (the discount will be applied in your cart).

Crown Vintage ‘Eyza’ riding boot, from $149.99 to $59.98 – $69.98
Ann Taylor is having a flash sale now before Labor Day discounts are applied, so you’re sure to find discounted pieces no matter when you shop.
Ann Taylor tie front midi dress, from $149.00 to $133.99

You should find up to 40% off fall pieces at Lord and Taylor. It’s a good opportunity to stop up on sweaters, invest in a coat, or to buy a party outfit for the festive season.

The Gap store is currently having a flash sale and is set to offer more discounts over the Labor Day weekend.
Gap patch pocket wrap skirt, from $59.95 to $50.99
You’ll find 25% off through to Sunday, as well as a separate clearance section with up to 60% off at American Eagle.
There are plenty of pieces such as crop tops you may which to leave to the likes of Jennifer Lopez (unless you happen to have her abdominal muscles), but also lots of discounts on basics, tees and shirts as well as on midi dresses and athletic wear and leggings.
There are some nice shirt dresses that I would wear over leggings or pants as a tunic.
American Eagle plaid shirt dress, from $59.95 to $23.98 (60% off)
Saks Off Fifth
There are thousands of pieces in the women’s clearance sale at Saks, as well as deals for $99.99 and below.
I noticed particularly good discounts on handbags. So, if you’re looking for discount designer handbags, this could be a good time to treat yourself.
Versace Collection – Chain & Medallion-Detailed Leather Tote, from $895.00 to $299.99 (66% Off)
