For the Christmas holidays me and my family went to the gold coast of Australia which is in the East. The goal was to be surrounded by nature and just relax!
I tried to do as little ‘work’ as possible as I needed to gather energy for the busy months ahead so the photos are more like snapshots. They will still give a good impression on what we did and I wore though.
This is what I wore on the plane. First and foremost I want to be warm and comfortable so stretchy pants are always a must and an extra jacket.
Pants Gap (old), t-shirt (&Other Stories) leather jacket Arma Collection, shoes: Marc O’Polo.
Our first stop was Noosa which is famous for its beaches.
You can also spot koalas there in the wild.
This is what I wore on my first day.
White cotton summer dress, Cos.
I purchased this printed blue kaftan in Noosa as it’s just so perfect for the beach.
White leggings, Stella Carakasi, Kaftan, sneakers Marc O’Polo.
This a vintage Marni tunic/dress that I purchased in New York. It’s very light cotton so perfect for a warm summer day.
White leggings: Stella Carakasi, Top: vintage Marni, shoes: Hoegl.
After Noosa, we travelled on to the largest city in the area. We had a pretty spectacular view from our hotel room!
I love visiting new cities and what I love most of all is meeting new friends that I have connected with online. I ‘met’ Elizabeth through Instagram and it was so wonderful to meet her in person.
Top and pants: In Good Company, shoes: Fly London.
Of course the city is also the place to shop. Through social media I knew about the Australian brand Dogstar Clothing which is right up my ally.
I loved this red architectural top.
Pants In Good Company, top Dogstar Clothing, Shoes Fly London.
A few impressions of Brisbane.
At the Queensland gallery of modern art.
A man-made beach in the middle of the city.
The city also provides the opportunity to wear fancier clothes. This was my outfit for Christmas day.
Skirt, top and necklace: In Good Company, shoes: Prada (thrifted), bag: Mirjam Zwolsman.
Next stop Tenterfield, but I will tell you more about my Australia adventures and what I wore next week.
As you can tell, I did not go the purely ‘practical’ route for packing on this holiday. Instead I selected outfits that made me happy which, at the moment, happens to include a lot of white!
What do you like to pack on a holiday?

Great to see you enjoyed your Queensland holiday, your outfits looked very flattery, relaxed and cool, very important as its so hot and humid on Gold Coast and Brisbane. I too spent time over the holiday break on Gold Coast, my number one accessory is a hat, to keep the sun off, sunglasses and shoes and sunscreen. The kaftan you purchased in Noose is very nice, looks very light, cool and easy to wear.
I only live a hop, skip and a jump up the road from Brisbane.
I liked your 3/4 white pants the best, but all of the clothes you wore in the photos are lovely and fresh looking. When I go travelling in the USA, I don’t look half as glamorous, as I stick to mainly black and white and stretch. I do buy a lot from Chicos..online….Enjoy your blog very much.
Great to read you enjoy the blog. I always try to make a bit of an effort, even while travelling. I find I enjoy myself more if I can find opportunities to dress up a bit every now and then…
Everybody looks fabulous and what a thrill to meet Elizabeth! Love the ‘red architectural top’ photo.
Yes she was a real pleasure to be with. She is so keen to visit New York, so I’m sure you will meet her one day….
You always have such great vacations! Love seeing your travel photos.
bisous

Well we like variety.. Although I’m more of a city girl, rather than a beach girl, which is one reason I wanted to include Brisbane!
It’s great when you have happy-making clothes to choose from when you’re on the road in unfamiliar places. That would definitely take precedence for me too. The wall as a backdrop for your Christmas photo couldn’t be better, especially with that necklace. And you got to meet Elizabeth! Bonus.
Looks like a fun holiday. I look forward to the next batch of pics.
Yes very true. Still as I get older I need to tone it down.Don’t want to ruin my back! I did not need to be practical on this trip as we had a car…..
What a beautiful spot to vacation. You look as lovely as the scenery!
Thank you Rebecca for the nice compliment!
Lovely post. I enjoyed it very much. You looked perfect in every picture. That “in good company” …. very nice brand. Love all the things you have of them. Dogstar is also a nice brand.

Ah that’s good to know as they take quite some time to create. But I reckon it’s a good memory for me personally as well. Yes, I love In Good Company and I think you would love it too. Dogstar is fabulous too but only available in Australia… (or online)
That last look… so chic!
Thank you for sharing your photos of Australia and your impeccable styles! I love the collection of tops you chose to pack and how you style them with neutral lower halves. Although the bottoms are repeated each top and accessories provide a brand new look. The bib necklace is stunning! I’m currently on my 3 month casual winter/spring holiday and have packed lightly using the capsule method. This time I brought more pairs of shoes than the sum total of pants, skirts and leggings. That’s a first! The clothes I packed are ones I love, along with pieces that are tried and true so I’m making progress. Looking forward to more Australia pix.
Great to read that you have been happy with your capsule wardrobe. I think it’s smart to pack more shoes. You really need good shoes for various occasions like walking, tracking, evening etc and when you pack some other accessories too, you can really mix and match and change your outfits. Have fun!
