Since I featured lots of fabulous dresses on Friday I thought I would show you one of my own dresses that I wore recently.
This is a silk dress from In Good Company that I recently acquired in a sale.
As you can see it looks very different from the front, side and back and really comes to its own while moving. I love clothes with these kind of interesting details!
This one is ideal for summer as the dress is loose and flowy which is so perfect for the hot weather here. The back is open which makes it extra airy.
Are you embracing dresses for spring? What do you look for in a dress?

Never would you merely blend into the background, Sylvia, and certainly not with that dress 🙂 it, and you, are no wallflowers xoxo
I’m partial to long sleeve vintage silk dresses that I have tailored to hit at the knee or just slightly below. A straight, narrow skirt is the best on my figure.
I think the cap sleeves and drapery of the back are very flattering on you, Sylvia. And it is a great pattern that would pair well with a bright colored purse or shoes; pink, cobalt blue, or red would make lovely color pairings.

Great dress, lovely colour looks really good on you, love the detail on the back
Beautiful dress and I love the draping at the back 🙂

Oh yeah, I love all that draping going on on the back and I can see how the movement must be divine with the silk. Can you also wear it in reverse?
Hi!! Love that dress!!
Thank you for the kind feedback Sharon!
As you said, it would be great to see how it looks as the wearer is walking. I love the pattern of this fabric. It has so many nature references – the colors, shadow and light, the design like tree bark, maybe. Just lovely. And the fit looks perfect on you too.
Yes this dress asks for movement. That is when it truly shines…
It is super different…it makes me wonder, can you wear it backwards, too?

Perhaps. Haven’t tried it…. I think it may be a bit funny as back is a lot longer than front.
This is a very unusual dress. I like that too. And I love the colour and pattern. It is one you can change as well. For instance with red accessories or fuchsia. A very good purchase as it becomes you. Love the shoes too.
I look for 3/4 sleeves in a dress and a hemline on my knee and a flattering silhouette.

Yes the dress is a tiny bit too short. Not too fond of highlighting my knees… Yes will definitely also wear it with red!
I am embracing dresses al year round! Lol. What a beautiful color is yours! For me a dress has to be not to tight around my breast, because of my lung disease. If it is to tight I can hardly breath! But luckely there is enough choice!

This one would be perfect for you. Nice and loose and open back… Wishing you health…
You look awesome in this beautiful dress!
Thank you Elisa for your kind feedback!
Very cool dress. I like the design. It looks a bit native Indian.

Thanks Suzanne. Glad it could please you 🙂
Great dress and you look awesome!
Oh, thank you Denton! Have fun with the Advanced Style crowd today!
Very cute dress and great shoes!
I usually wait for warmer temperatures (above 80) before wearing dresses and skirts. I always get too chilly. Since I’m a bit short-waisted, I have trouble finding dresses that fit properly. They always end up with lots of extra fabric along the shoulders, and don’t lay well across the front because the waist doesn’t sit correctly. Skirts/tops are much easier for me.
Yes no such problems here. Even though here it’s always too hot 🙁
