40+ women came out in force to the New York City Ballet Gala this spring. Here are some fabulous looks that can inspire your evening wear!
1. Uniquely black
This is a very original black dress and the little embelishments and unusual design make this outfit very special.
2. All black
Elegant and timeless.
3. Pretty in red
I love how this woman does not let a disability get in the way of dressing up to the nines!
4. Blue!
Robert Kraft together with Ricki Lander (not quite 40 yet, but loved this dress so much that I wanted to include it).
5. Chic in pants
I love how these women dressed up pants.
6. Pink splendour
A unique look for women who like the more is more principle.
7. Retro chic
Kedakai turner wears a 50s inspired look with a hairstyle that reminds me of Jackie Kennedy. Elegant and chic. She is here together with her husband James Lipton.
8. Chic in navy blue
Softer than black this navy blue suits this woman beautifully!
9. Printed
A great example of a chic printed dress.
10. Coral
Lovely laced coral dress which is such a great color for this woman.
11. Asymmetrical
The most unusual look of this roundup and my personal favorite!
12. Long skirt and jacket
Not sure if this is a long skirt or a dress but it’s a lovely combination, if not only for her gorgeous smile. The woman on the left looks elegant and chic too even though I feel that a brighter color would have looked nicer on her.
13. Asymmetrical black and white
Love this black and white dress which is sexy and elegant.
This is only part 1 in this series as Denton took many beautiful pictures of 40+ women. Let me know if you recognise someone on the pictures!
Which of today’s looks is your favorite?

I just love ballet dancing. Everytime I am in Paris, got to go and visit the opera. So can imagine how much you must have enjoyed your visit. I love the asymetrical, too. Sabina | Oceanblue Style
I am 5ft 10ins so lllooovvveeedd #8 I feel it lengthened this delightful lady, showed off her figure. MMMmm that’s the one for me. Thank you for the photos x
#7 retro chic 🙂 Also love the women in trousers – elegant! Looking forward to seeing more photos!
P.S. — I am also speechless with #6, even though I love pink. Will just leave it at that!!
Love #9, printed dress…different and beautiful. #13 is sexy and elegant…bold but not over the top. And big shout-out to #3….gorgeous and fun in red!
Since it was the ballet they were attending, my favorite would be #7 the retro chic. I found this to be just that, retro, yet elegant and chic as well as perfect for the occasion.
Yes, you are right Trina. Suits the occasion so well!
The younger women all look gorgeous
Number 12 is lovely but the dress/skirt is too long and looks like she could trip
I am speechless with number 6
Love number 1 but would have liked hair down – softer
I can’t decide between #7 and #8. The retro look is so elegant but I also like the navy blue with the deep v neckline. Mr. Kraft in #4 is the owner of our local American football team so I want to point out his very chic formal sneakers. His companions looks lovely too. The color of her dress is fantastic.
Thanks for letting me know. Yes his footwear is certainly unique!
The Printed Dress Without A Doubt.
I love #7. A lovely, classic look.
I love 13 and 1 (in that order), but, like you, I adore number 11. What a suit. To die for. It might even look pretty good on me, although I don’t want to show my belly.
(We usually have the same taste in these posts, don’t we?)

I love your personal favorite as well and for many reasons, I love the woman in red! There was some interesting footwear on the mister with the lovely blonde in blue!

I love the pants and cutaway jacket! Chanel, do we think?
No idea….
I like the coral dress—color is so lovely and I get somewhat tired of all black at formal events! Thus I gravitate and favor the colored dresses!! Am I the only one? jodie

No I love color too. But I sitll like black and white when the design is unique like with the top dress and my favorite look.
Hi Sylvia
I love 7#. I think she looks very chic.,
I also love the asymmetrical outfit your personal favourite. It’s different and also very classy.
Annie
All of these women look fabulous! Love the black dress in #2! My favorite looks are #4 she looks beautiful and very confident in that blue dress and also that lovely coral dress in #10 one of my favorite colors…
#7
I love #1. Just beautiful and timeless. #6 gets an ‘A’ for Audacious, with the pink Dior bag and a complete pink ‘girlie’ outfit.
