I’m very happy to live in perpetual summer but I sometimes miss the art of layering. I love the different silhouettes and textures you can create with layering.

This is one reason I’m so attracted to unique asymmetrical tops or tops that feature an element of sheer as I showed you last week. They create extra interest and make an outfit with a single layer less plain. My draped dress does this as well.

Another great way to get the illusion of layering and add extra interest to your outfit while still staying cool is to choose a top that looks like a layered top.  This top from Porto looks like it’s layered over a white blouse but it’s just one top. It combines 2 different fabrics too, which enhances the effect. That makes it easy and breezy to wear and the asymmetrical details make it extra fun!

To get the full effect it’s nice to wear this top with a contrasting color to the white. My old silk black pants were an obvious choice.

The fuchsia shoes together with the bright necklace that I bought in a small shop in The Netherlands provide the necessary color and gives the outfit a fun aspect, ticking all the boxes for my personal style!
