2 big sales are coming up.
The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has started today for cardholders, so you may like to get in there early for the best deals. Stay tuned for a roundup and capsule wardrobe from the sale coming up next week.
The Amazon Prime Day sale may be better known for its technology bargains. But there will also be plenty of fashion finds.
Last year, the fashion deals came thick and fast. Plus, items are obviously only on sale until they sell out so I’d grab it fast if you see something you like.
In particular, you will find that Amazon’s own brand fashion labels will be on sale.
Only Amazon Prime members can access the sale. But, if you aren’t sure about Amazon Prime, you could always take advantage of the free 30-day membership and then cancel after the sale if you decide Prime isn’t for you.
This year, Amazon Prime Day is actually two days – with offers to be found on July 15th and 16th.
The Amazon fashion brands likely to be on sale during Amazon Prime Day
If previous years are anything to go by, you are likely to find discounts on Amazon’s own fashion brands, although Amazon is keeping schtum on exactly what to expect so far.
You may find pieces from Amazon own fashion brands like Lark & Ro, Find, Truth & Fable, Meraki and Aurique.
Amazon pieces I love
I often feature Amazon pieces on the site because they are extremely affordable.
Plus, because the choice is so vast, you’re probably going to be able to find a specific style, whether you’re looking for an asymmetrical top or a certain pair of sandals.
Here are 10 of the best Amazon pieces I have featured here recently. As I said, Amazon are tight-lipped about what will be in the sale, so I’m not sure if they will be on sale but you may keep an eye out for them.
Cowl neck top
I always think that having a good selection of plain, neutral or one-color tops in your closet is vital to giving your closet versatility.
But, I still make sure my plain tops are interesting by choosing tops with details such as a cowl neck.

Asymmetrical tunic
If you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that many of my outfits feature asymmetry.
This tunic features an asymmetrical hemline which would help to disguise a belly if that is part of your body you aren’t so confident about.

Patterned tunic
Here’s another option if you’re looking for tops to hide a bit of a tummy. The pattern adds interest as well as drawing attention away from areas you aren’t so keen on.
Check out this piece for more inspiration on tops to hide your belly.
A long vest
One of the most versatile pieces you can have in your closet, a long, sleeveless vest is fantastic for adding interest as well as having a slimming , elongating effect.

A wrap dress
I cannot think of a woman that the wrap dress would not suit. When Diane Von Furstenburg invented this style, she definitely knew what she was doing.
A wrap dress is extremely flattering because of its v-neck and the way it drapes. Plus, it suits all body shapes.
A tunic dress
I’m often asked whether you can still wear leggings over 40, and what to wear with them.
A tunic is one of the most flattering, easy pieces you can put over your leggings. This one has the added advantage of an interesting hemline. I’d just add a statement necklace and you’re good to go.
A harem-style jumpsuit
I love my harem jumpsuit for plane travel and sightseeing because it’s so comfortable.
Plus, you could dress this one up with heeled sandals and jewelry for evening.
A pair of everyday leggings
If you’re looking for leggings which are comfortable and are of a good quality to make sure that they hold their shade and don’t go see-thru – these ones have great reviews.
A travel bag
Heading off on a vacation this year? Then you probably want a bag to keep your belongings secure and your hands free. This one is one of Amazon’s best sellers.

My favorite Fly London sandals
You’ll see that many of my summer outfits often feature my favorite Fly London sandals.
They’re contemporary enough to add a little bit of oomph to an outfit, but they’re also incredibly comfortable.
My favorite gadgets
While you’ll find plenty of fashion buys in the Amazon Prime event, there are also decent deals to be had on technology.
You’ll have to keep your eyes peeled to see what Amazon puts on sale, but these are some of my own favorite gadgets.
The Apple iPad Pro
I use mine to read my favorite blogs, to read instead of a Kindle, and to add a keyboard to when I need to work on the go.
The Echo look
I thought this looked like fun. It helps you to keep track of your outfits, as well as giving your advice about which ones look best on you.
A selfie stick with tripod
This is the one I use for all of my photos and videos. It’s great for taking photos of your outfits to see how they look and to keep track of which pieces go best with each other.
It’s also a good option to take on vacation as it’s lightweight.
