Floral outfits can sometimes look old-fashioned, but definitely not this season. Today’s florals are big, bold, and modern. Let’s take a look at how to wear them.
How to wear floral outfits
Floral prints are very much on-trend this season. They were all over the designer runways for 2024. Below you’ll find all the tips and inspiration you need to put together your own floral looks.
keep it bold
The first tip when wearing floral outfits this season is to opt for big prints rather than smaller flowers.
choose one standout piece
Opt for one floral piece, such as your shirt, pants, coat, or bag, and make that the star of your outfit.

wear with jeans
This is a super easy and stylish way to incorporate floral prints into your existing looks. Simply team a floral blouse with your favorite pair of jeans to create chic floral outfits.
floral pants are perfect for vacations
While wearing florals on your top often seems easier, choosing a floral pair of pants and teaming them with a plain top is a fantastic look for vacations and during the warmer months.

florals on the runway
Designers chose so many floral looks for 2024, but they all had one thing in common. Their prints were arty and big, and they stood out from the crowd. We love the arty vibe of Loewe’s look (center), which is graphic and abstract, and you really have to look hard to see that it is flowers. We also loved the bold red flowers at Balmain and the sculptural way Jason Wu used flowers.

The different prints you choose for your skirts and dresses can alter the feel of your outfit. For example, a big print looks hip and modern, while a smaller swirling print can create a whimsical, romantic feel. Floral dresses are perfect for any upcoming events or summer vacations. Team them with heels and a clutch bag for more formal occasions or flat sandals or sneakers for casual days.

A few more questions you may have
We’ve answered a few common questions below.
What goes well with floral print?
Opting for neutral shades is a great way to let your floral patterns stand out. Wear with neutrals like white or black, team with your blue denim. Or, think about plain shades that match the floral print in your outfit.
Are floral prints still in style?
Very much so. Flowers never go out of style, but they’re particularly on-trend this season (2024). So, if you don’t have any in your closet yet, it’s a great time to add some.

I was going to comment that I don’t have anything floral and then I saw a photo of myself in your article haha. Forgot about that. I even have a dress in this pattern.

I’m 5’1″, mostly hourglass shape but slim. I don’t think I can wear those big floral prints. Advice?
I don’t see why not? As long as you keep proportions of your outfit towards a 1/3-2/3 silhouette they can work for everyone. Of course they will make a bit of a fashion statement. If you think that the print would stand out too much or if you feel that big prints would overwhelm you, you can always consider making a floral print statement with a bag, shoe or a another accessory.
