Did you know the duster coat was originally worn by cowboys to protect their clothes from dust while on horseback? Now, they’re a style statement which can give any outfit extra polish. Horse optional!
Here are some ideas on how to style your duster coat…
The duster coat can be one of the most versatile pieces in your closet. You can wear it with pretty much anything! It can create clean, long lines to elongate your figure and hide a belly. It’s also the perfect piece for transitional dressing.
1. Black and white
Monochrome is a classic combination however you wear it. Opting for a white duster coat over a column of black can not only create a slimming effect, but can update your black for summer!

2. For summer
Dressing for summer can be trickier than putting together outfits in the colder months when you have plenty of layers to play with and to add interest.
But a lightweight duster can easily be worn over shorts for summer, as well as doubling as a cover-up for the beach.
3. Double Denim
While double denim, or the Canadian tuxedo as it is also known, is usually about pairing jeans with a denim shirt in a slightly different hue, wearing a denim duster coat gives a fresh take on the trend.
