As I told you last week, I’m into leather at the moment.
For the first time ever, I bought a leather top!
I was attracted to the soft leather and the sleeveless design which would enable me to wear the top in Singapore. I wore it on its own but of course it would be a great layering piece too with a jacket.
The top has an unusual drapy collar which makes it unique and interesting but also a bit more challenging to wear. You definitely need to drape it correctly to get the right effect.
It’s also clear that I need my most uplifting and sturdiest bra to wear with this top (a different one than I wear in these pictures) as my bust becomes quite prominent with the shiny leather. This is something I’m not super comfortable with (I usually like to downplay my bust area) but it does make the look more sexy and edgy.
Another lovely detail is that you can choose to leave the back half open.
I paired the top with my white midi skirt from Zara. I like that the skirt makes this look more classic and it provides a great contrast to the edgier and more rock & roll leather. This makes the look appropriate for a 40+ woman like myself and gives it a classy vibe.
Leather top: Cigno Nero similar (but a lot more expensive…)
Skirt: Zara (old) similar
Shoes: Unisa (old) similar
Would you consider wearing a leather top?

I think it is a fantastic top. Well styled with the skirt and shoes. And never be afraid to be a sexy. It is sexy in an elegant, sophisticated way.
This top is so fun, the back zipper gives it an edgy detail. I really like how you paired this with a feminine skirt.

Hope to see you Thursday for TBT Fashion link up.
This top is gorgeous and I would wear it (after doing more arm exercises!!) I have tried a couple of leather tops but they always seemed too stiff and would not fit well around the armholes.
I bought a leather look top at the same time I bought a leather look dress (both fabric not pleather). Although I have worn the dress (and it was mistaken for real leather) I have not worn the top as it is more challenging to style.
a perfect pairing!
the leather top looks so soft – gorgeous!!!

Wow! I would not even think about pairing these together……it’s a winning look!!
That top is gorgeous! You look gorgeous. It’s all gorgeous! I can see it paired with SO many things: jeans, a pencil skirt, black trousers…
I saw this on Instagram and had to stop by and tell you how much I love it. But now that I’ve seen the back…Wow! Crazy fabulous!

This looks amazing! I adore the zipper closure too.
I like the idea of the top but might be concerned about needing to wash it.

What a fabulous piece! It looks classy with the white skirt and I agree with your styling strategy. How would it look with your gold booties or other artsy shoes? Maybe a bit edgier but still appropriate.
Another gorgeous item! It has that unique vibe that I like so much. By the way, I would also like it paired with jeans or a pair of dressier trousers – you get away with it in any case.
Love this top! I would wear a faux leather one, and I’d style it similarly to keep from looking too “punk.” xo
