Here are some pictures of my second day trip to Amsterdam. Only the day before I went with the fabulous Greetje but the weather was so cold and wet that we couldn’t really do anything but hide under an umbrella and run from one shop to the next.
With some success I might add as I scored a beautiful skirt by Preen at 70% off. Can’t wait to show you that another time.
The next day though the weather was gorgeous and almost Singapore hot and therefore taking photographs is a must!
The first venue of the day was the Rijksmuseum. Although it can be busy here, today me and my friend Saskia could just walk in without any queues at all!
I’m wearing a new outfit by GetDressed2, a brand that I featured before.
The asymmetrical grey striped skirt is right up my alley and oh so comfortable to wear.
It’s combined with a versatile jacket / blouse in white linen and combined with some great detailing in cotton jersey.
Rather than just being pretty in the front, boring at the back, this skirt is slightly draped at the back too. You could actually wear it the other way around for a completely different look.
White and gray require some extra color which is partly provided by my old Alldressedup necklace and new bag by Mirjam Zwolsman. Although I normally don’t really wear pastel colors like this light pastel blue, I was instantly attracted to the color combination and design of this bag. It’s also easier to add these colors to my outfit as an accessory.
This bike would be a fabulous accessory too. For many years I rode a red bike like this one through Amsterdam when I was a student. Unfortunately, my current bike is not as fancy.

Love the outfit on you – skirt is so feminine but still with an “edge”. Also, the backdrop is fabulous!
You demonstrate without a doubt that being on holiday and roaming a city doesn’t need to be done in old tank tops with battered shoes.

Love the idea of the white and grey combination for summer and your outfit is beautiful! My summer version is light silver gray skinny ankle jeans from J. Crew with either a grey or white tee. From there I can use any accent colors I want including my favorite aqua shirt and shoes, a red jacket and shoes, cobolt blue jacket with my orange wedges, for example. Accessories and bags also show off very well on this color palette. I’m not sure if I would wear a draped skirt or not. It would depend on the length, placement of the drape detail and bulk of the fabric. Being petite I’ve steered clear of maxi skirts because they accentuate my short height and age me. I love the draped look but would only wear a version that didn’t add bulk in the wrong spots!
Nice vacation, photos and outfits. I used to spend time in Rotterdam, so nice to ride a bike there compared to NYC!
I have that exact skirt! Mine is blinding tomato red though.
Very pretty look, and I love the bag, especially. I would wear a draped skirt as long as the drapes are in the right place and don’t make me look wide where I’m sufficiently wide already. 🙂

Yes Rita, Maastricht is similar. Smaller though and less canals.

You look so stylish Sylvia and I love this style of skirt for you as you have the figure to wear it. It’s probably not so good for my shape, being a pear it would add lots of additional volume on my hips. The red bike was a wonderful accessory!
That looks so cozy and chic – both at the same time. I don’t know yet, if I would wear a skirt like this. I never do this before and I don’t know if this cut would be okay for me. But you look really gorgeous with it. Perfect pairing with this nice flats and this red details. It’s a pity, that the weather was not so good.
