40+ Style is a fashion and beauty site, especially for women over 40.
Our mission is to show you that you can look gorgeous at any age. It’s all about having fun with style and fashion!
Too often, we get too worried about our wrinkled faces, heavier bodies or loosening skin. Having fun with hair and makeup, fashion, and new styles cannot only help you look better you will also feel more confident and happy.
Looking good and being stylish is not so much about money, the figure you have, or how old you are. It’s about dressing to your strengths, knowing your body type, and embracing your unique style.
I hope to help you in your quest to find your own style, dress to your strengths, and look fabulous.

My name is Sylvia and I’m the founder and editor in chief of 40+Style.
My mission is for every woman over 40 to feel fabulous, beautiful and empowered both inside and out. Although style is not the only thing that helps with that, it’s an important part.
If you’re feeling a bit frumpy right now there are a LOT of resources here at 40+Style that will help you get your style groove back.
I’m a happy 50 plusser and currently live in Portugal. Although originally from The Netherlands, I have lived worldwide: Italy, South Africa, England, Japan, China and Australia. I have studied both international marketing, fashion styling and color and have worked in various professional roles related to fashion.

Make sure you actually receive our emails
A few words on actually receiving my emails in your email programme. Gmail now uses a promotion tab and my email may end up there (where you don’t see it). Here is how to resolve that.
When an email lands in your promotions folder under the promotions tab, just drag my email to your primary tab. That should resolve the issue!
If you can’t find your email, check your promotion or spam folders.
