I have often talked about the great versatility of white pants. But just as practical is a white jacket. Although I don’t wear it so often in Singapore (there simply is no need for jackets here), I tend to wear it a lot in almost every other climate whenever I’m on holiday.
How to wear a white jacket?
A white jacket looks great with a girly dress (as seen above; many more photos on this dress on Monday).
It looks equally good on a long straighter skirt as well.
A white blazer jacket is good too. It’s a little less versatile as a white jeans jacket but you can wear it in a formal way or casual as shown below.
I find my white jeans jacket more versatile for holidays though as I can wear that with just about anything.
During this holiday I have worn it with:
- My blue and white jeans
- Blue pants
- Pink shorts
- Both my white and black leggings
- My purple and pink dress
- My red skirt
My white jacket was never far from my side and together with my hat has proven to be the most worn item of all the clothes I took on holiday.
Do you have a white jacket in your wardrobe yet?
Together with my white jeans I find my white jacket an essential part of my wardrobe and this particular jacket has already lasted me for years. It always makes the cut whenever I go on holiday outside of Asia.
Here are some examples of great white jackets currently available online. Use as inspiration or happy shopping!

I don’t think a white jacket is “essential” to my look, however, I do feel very “summery” in a white jacket. Also, I really and carefully do need to plan my day – where am I going? What will I be doing? How messy? What will I be eating? If I take off my jacket, what am I wearing underneath? Is there a clean place to put my jacket? How soon can I take it to the dry cleaners? Too many decisions for wearing white – but I still adore white in the summer with a tan.
I bought a white denim jacket this spring and I’ve worn it a lot, with just about everything!
I love white jacket’s, I have three, and wear them with with white jeans, and blue jean’s, or with a brightly colored scarf, white jeans, teal colored blouse and white jean jacket is one of my favorite combo’s.
I don’t have a white jacket or white pants. It’s like Murphy’s Law, everytime I have light color on I’d spill, sprinkle, or smear something on. Never fail.
being a perfectionist I can’t stand seeing white stained or yellowed (with wear and wash). So to spare my heartache, I stop wearing white.
for now i only have a tissue thin white button down shirt as a cover up from Urban Outfitters that only sets me back $10. If it gets dirty or dingy, I’ll toss it out.
BTW, if I do wear a cover up/jacket/coat on the light side, I always wear a scarf around my neck to protect the inner collar from being badly stained from body oil and/or sweat.
For me it is not an essential, but I did buy one recently very similar to the two Tibi jackets you feature above. I haven’t worn it yet as it’s too cold, but I am seeing it becoming a active part of my Spring / Summer capsule:). I am loving your outfit next to the green pants outfit, love the white jacket as you have worn it here…this has given me some ideas;)
I just love whites
I love my white jacket, I wear it a lot! Lovely looks Sylvia!
I have an off-white blazer which I hardly wear, but your outfit with the green trousers (still love that one) has given me an idea.
I don’t travel that much so I can dress for the weather of that particular day. Not so much need for a jacket. For you it was indeed a great item in your capsule.
A white blazer is indeed an essential part also of my summer wardrobe as it is so versatile and dresses up a more casual outfit. I especially love your look with the green tousers.
Wearing my white blazer on my current post!
