Cheryl is one of the members of the 40+Style club and she enjoys vibrant style as well as mixing colorful pieces with prints. She has a pear body shape and embracing it too as she learned how to dress for her fabulous shape.
Let’s discover her style secrets!
Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a retired homeschooling mom of three. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren and photographing nature. I’m an avid reader and I spend a lot of my time “walking”. I love to cook! These days I am thankful to be able to assist my husbands parents as a companion and helper.
As a point of reference which age group do you belong to or perhaps you are willing to share your age?
I turned 60 this year.
How would you describe your own personal style?
My style is fresh and easy going yet refined and very feminine.
Do you take things like color profiling or body type into account when you dress?
I have chosen to remain gray so the colors I use are very important. I find I need vibrant colors to look my best. Color and body type are key considerations in my style.
Why is the way you look important to you?
I think style is an expression of the individual. One can know themselves and still not be able to express that through their style. Style is very personal. The 40 Plus Style Club really gets that. Style is as personal to me as my own smile. I want to get it right.
Do you follow trends? And if yes, which trends excite you at the moment?
I love to incorporate trends into my style. It helps me stay fresh and exciting. This Fall there are a lot of them that I will be able to incorporate. Reds. Wide legged ankle pants. Bold prints. A little bit of velvet.
Do you have any fashion and style tips for women over 40?
Do not be afraid of makeup. We need it as we get older. It gives us “Presence”.
Keep your style updated and wear what truly flatters your own body type.
Try to appreciate the beauty of others but don’t compare it to yours.
Project your own beauty. Invest in yourself. Get some professional knowledge…40 Plus style Club is a great place for that. As a member I have access to mentors.
How has the style club and the 21 Style course helped you ignite your style? What are some of the main things you learned?
Knowledge has ignited my style. Times have changed style wise.
One of the main things I’ve learned is how to put modern pieces together successfully.
Gone are the days of walking into a store and having an ensemble sitting there waiting for you.
You have to be able to put it together yourself. Pieces have changed. The style club helps me know “what is what”, how to wear it, and what could be appropriate for me.
