I love clothes with an architectural feel. That is why I’m attracted to clothing with asymmetry as well as sturdy fabrics that create different silhouettes. I realise that this top is not for everyone as it’s made from a very stiff double cotton. I could not resist it though when I saw it in the shops.
There is certainly an art in wearing it. You have to make sure that the top sits straight on your shoulders, otherwise it leans back too much and you look like you are pregnant! Still I love the silhouette it creates from the side, with the black side parts visible.
I paired it with my sand colored slouchy pants. I have been eying pants like these for a while but could not find the perfect ones. Even these are not perfect as they are not made of a natural fabric which is usually essential for me when it comes to pants. Still, I love the fit and comfort of these pants, so I decided to give them a try. I love the contrast of the flowy and slouchy pants with the thick and structured architectural top!
The perfect finishing touch is provided by this architectural coral and silver cuff from Jewelry to your Doorstep. I love the splash of color it provides as well as the combination of round and triangle shapes that increase the architectural feel of the outfit. It’s a beautiful cuff that will work well with many of my outfits.
As a necklace I’m wearing a simple red leather strap with a silver pendant that I’ve had for ages. I wanted to wear something simple and minimalist that still provided a bit of color closer to my face. Of course my big red/fuchsia sunglasses help with that as well!
As for my frizzy hair.. yes I know. It’s a continuous battle here in super humid Singapore. I swear it looked good when I left the house. But spend some time outside and off it goes… Next week I will show you what my hair is supposed to look like! I’m actually thinking of cutting it again. Either that or I have to do another keratin treatment…

I love “architectural” clothes – that top is lovely. I’ve mostly stayed away from that type of fabric because of living in a very humid climate but now that I’ve moved to a cooler, dryer climate I’m looking forward to wearing different fabrics and styles 🙂
You, my dear, are my minimalist maven! I envy your sleek, slick style and the panache you’ve got to pull it off. With my body type, this ensemble would look either awkward or frumpy or both. At least I can admire it on you, eh?
I actually quite love your hair here. It looks strawberry blond.
I really like the pops of red. With so much neutral going on the red is bold and bright.

Sylvia, it’s very nice top. I think it would combine with your any skirts and trousers very well. I looked your Pinterest. Excuse me for my mistakes in English(((.
I would add that I do like more structured fabrics like your top. So many tops these days are quite flimsy, and I think it feels very comfortable to wear something with some substance to it.
The outfit is perfect on you!!! I especially love the slouchy trousers and shoes together, and the pops of red to break up the neutral colors. The top looks great on you, too. I’d have trouble wearing a top like that because of my shorter than optimal height, but with your tall, slender frame, you can really wear it well. Your frizzy hair is super cute and natural, too! 🙂 This is probably one of my favorite outfits that you have pictured on your blog.
Such a great outfit. I especially like this pops of red! Thank you for sharing.

Love love love the top and bracelet cuff thing. I want both myself!
Thanks Sarah. Of course I agree with you 🙂
This outfit is sheer perfection on you. I love everything about it, especially the blouse. One of your best silhouettes!
Thanks you Karen!
Love clothes like that which is why Akris is one of my favorite fashion brands
Yes I like that brand too. Not so much the prize tag though…
I really like this top – for you and for me too! Although I wonder if it keeps this fresh look after i drive, and sit at my desk for hours. It’s a great crisp outfit, and I think your hair is fetching!
The top keeps its shape very well and does not really wrinkle. Can’t say that about the pants though as you can see from the pictures….
I love all items. If you get tired of the pants or top (I know you are bored with clothes very quickly)… please hand it down to me hahaha. Just kidding. But they are good items.
And your hair… it might be a little frizzy but you still have a lovely face with it. That is most important.
Haha we will see Greetje… I do actually have a separate wardrobe full of (almost) rejects and will certainly have a good look which items could suit you! And thank you for the kind words about my face Greetje, but it DOES look a whole lot nicer with good hair…..
This is very true to your style! I love the way you are wearing soft pants with the more stiff top. The bracelet is beautiful.
Thanks Tracey. I just love how the bracelet looks with this outfit!
I love the way you combined all the elements of the outfit. The stiffness of the top with the pant is great plus the accessories are good choices. Wonderful example of an artful piece worn with style. Have you tried Moroccan Oil on your hair?
My hair is a similar texture, or at least it looks like it your pictures, but I’m sure it’s way more humid where you live. I use a peas sized drop, or even more, every morning and only wash my hair every four days.

Thanks Ann! I have tried other oils but they weigh down the hair. I can never find moroccan oil but will make a bigger effort to get it. I should really make more of an effort to find the right products!
I love the shirt you´re wearing. Kisses from
