Inspiring this week

inspiring 40+ women

From the 40+ Style forum

I started a new thread about hair products. I really want to find out which work and which don’t. So hopefully you will share your hair product secrets with us? I need all the help I can get with my new short hairstyle!

Favorite looks

Anja is currently in India and this outfit suits that country so well. I also really liked her orange trousers. Greetje showed us her pink casual capris but I also really like her black and white look. Seeker looked great in a black, white and red outfit.

I know that the currently active ladies would love to see more looks posted in the forum, so don’t be shy!

Around the net

I absolute adore Heather in this Italian dress.

Melanie from Bag and a Beret always inspires me with her creative outfits.

How elegant is this stylist, turned beauty guru, Linda Rodin!

I’m always inspired by Leo Babauta’s posts, like this one on openness.

According to recent research, clothes make the man / woman smarter. “People who wore white lab coats made half as many mistakes on attention-related tasks as those wearing their regular clothes” Fascinating!

Have a wonderful weekend!

What a fun item this is. Indeed inspiring.
I have clicked trough to everything and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Saw Heather in her beautiful dress, was surprised by Melanie. Linda has of course always been beautiful so I do not expect to age as gracefully as she has, but still inspiring.
Did not totally agree with Leo’s talk on openess, but it did make me stop, think and realize, which is good.
And the article about clothes having such on influence on your mind, makes me content with my hobby. (See…., it is not mindless what I do, it serves a very good reason. Haha.)
And of course I know all about the Forum and contributed to your hair product thread.

Glad you enjoyed the roundup Greetje!

I did as Greetje and made the round up before commenting.
Loved Linda Rodin!!!! I so wish I would be able to age so gracefully (but I haven’t what it needs for it first, a great figure).
I also liked Leo’s post….. food for thought.
I already contributed to your hair product thread.
And I want to thank you once again to include me with the so elegant ladies who also post in the Forum, you know what it means to me.

You’re welcome seeker. Glad you you enjoyed the roundup too.

Nice post, interesting links, and honoured to be included again. Yes, I like Heather’s outfit too, very feminine. Melanie’s post is quirky and a bit crazy. Linda Rodin is beautiful. The post about ‘openness’ did not tell me anything new. I guess I did and had my fair share of self-exploration etc. since I was around 18 years old;-). Even though not new for me, there was a lot in it that makes sense, in my opinion.
Keep up the good work on your blog, Sylvia. Your consistency and continuity is very high and admirable!

Thanks Anja. Will do my best 🙂

This is opening weekend for college football so I have not had time to read all of your links yet but I want to point something out. We have been commenting on your post about stylish, powerful women over 40 (from the Forbes list) but look at the women who share their outfits on your Blog – they are just as beautiful and stylish! Anja is so creative, Greetji is sophisticated , Heather is always glamorous, and I don’t know Seeker yet but she is as pretty as the others. 🙂 And you set the style bar higher for us with each garment you model Sylvia. Who needs celebrities when we have our own superstars?!!

Oh, Suzanne you make me blush…. I definitely hope to feature lots more of these superstars here on my blog!

Tx, Suzanne, and well put!

Suzanne…. Do you want to be my new best friend? Hahaha. Just kidding. Thank you very much for the compliments.

I want to be your “adopted sister” so you are obligated to share your shoes and purses with me! LOL! I do not actually have a sister but I am pretty sure that they HAVE to share. 🙂

Heather Fonseca

Thank you so much for including me in your list! Now I need to go and check all the links. I’ve been swamped with work and am a little behind on my blog reading. Sigh.

I guess it’s good to be busy Heather. But I know what you mean. It can be tough to keep up with all your favorite blogs….
