A beautiful red dress with statement jewelry that you could transition into fall | 40plusstyle.com

As you could see from the Fall trends report, both color and long skirts are on trend.

This is a great example of how to wear a longer dress (or skirt) in a young and hip way. It’s really the accessories that make this look special. Hip shoes and bag give this outfit even more color and an extra punch.

You could easily transition this look into fall by adding a short (jeans) jacket and even boots for colder weather.

Would you wear a red dress?

Absolutely love her red dress. I’ve always been partial to the longer dresses/skirts so this look really speaks to me. I would definitely wear a red dress! Love her shoes too.

Love a red dress and there are so many gorgeous shades of red in stores right now! She looks great!

The shoes! Very creative.

I most definitely LOVE wearing red…dresses, coats, bags…anything and everything.
That outfit is beautiful. The dress itself is very nice but could have easily fallen victim to the dreaded frump-factor. The fresh and funky accessories keep the whole look modern. I don’t like using the term “young”…I don’t really want to look younger, just fashionable and modern. Age is no barrier to that!

I love the shoes with the dress! Not something I would naturally do, but it really works!

This woman was just coming out of Bergdorf’s (note the lilac bag) when I asked her for a photo. She didn’t seem like she was going to stop but when I mentioned that her Dior Diorama bag looked great she suddenly paid attention. Being able to comment intelligently on what a woman is wearing when asking for a photo (especially as a male) is often helpful to getting the shot.

Not many men can comment intelligently, Denton!

I loooove this!

Oh yes I would wear a red dress. As a matter of fact I have one and just bought another one.

Definitely would wear a long red dress. Also loving the longer skirt trend, as I’m 5’10” and it can be more revealing than I’m comfortable with to wear regular-length skirts, especially to the office!

I would wear a great fitting knee length red dress. I love how the bag and shoe color pull everything together.

I am a bit scared of red but bought a fabulous pinky red dress in New York with Sylvia. It looked good on her too!

I don’t get it – where’s the “statement jewelry”? All I see is a tiny pendant and an everyday, plain, watch.

What I meant is accessories: the shoes and the bag. This was reflected in the text but I made an error in the title which I have now corrected.

ah, ok, that makes more sense. I LOVE the shoes!
