Earlier this week I talked about how to wear cropped pants. Especially the wider cropped pants that are on trend right now.
Here are a few of my variations.
As I explained in this article on how to wear wide cropped pants, the key to wearing this style of pants is to wear short cropped pants with them. The closer these tops are to your natural waist, the better. Of course this only works when you cropped pants are high waisted like mine are.
It’s fun to choose a top that has an interesting detail. It could be a special sleeve detail (very much on trend right no) or a tie at the waist as my top has.
I like wearing tops that cover the whole chest area as this is not my prettiest area. In order to still create a flattering V-shape I like to add a necklace. Here is one of my new favorites!
Then complete the look with some fun trendy shoes and a bag and you have a fabulous outfit. It’s nice to add a print or some texture somewhere in your look. You can do this through printed and textured accessories, like the printed shoes from Lisa Tucci.
Even though I favor heels with this look, I also wear these pants with flats.
I have similar pants in black. Again I wore them with a short cropped top. Funnily this one has side knots as well! It’s been in my closet for a while as I bought this a long time ago in Europe at a huge discount.
I love how they look with my latest necklace, another graphical and architectural piece from In Good Company.
It’s a combination of navy green, black, white and silver.
I later wore this outfit again and added a short jacket.

How about body types that carry weight in the midsection so don’t want to wear short cropped tops? Is there a way they can style these pants?
You can wear a longer skimming top (half way over the belly) in the same color as the pants. Then have a shorter top or jacket on top of that.
The shoes are fantastic as well. Do they run narrow or average in width?
You look great in these outfits, particularly the first one with the rust colored top. That color really suits you.

Yes, I love the wide pant look, cropped and long. They project a certain grace and ease when worn. Also, they can be dressed up or down.
