Hi I'm Sylvia and the creator of this site. I'm currently 45 years old. I was born in The Netherlands, but have lived in several countries including Italy, England, Japan, South Africa, China and Australia. I currently live in tropical Singapore.

I have a life long passion for style and fashion, and have worked for several fashion companies. I did courses in styling and color design, but eventually started my own company focussing on web design and online promotion; the perfect profession when you change country every few year!

With 40+Style I'm getting right back into fashion and style again and aim to inspire all women over 40 to dress to their strengths and embrace their style!

Hi, my name is Nanne. I just turned 42, and live with my husband and our two spoilt cats in a 100 years old, tiny little traditional house surrounded by a lush garden full of berry shrubs and briar, in a scenic little village on the coast of Northern Norway. My occupation is in the public sector doing administrative work, and on my spare time I blog, which is the outlet for whatever little creativity I possess! I have many various interests, and my interest for clothes, personal style and fashion is perhaps a little more than average. I like to enjoy myself and I love good food and wine, but at the same time I try to live fairly healthy keeping up with my diet and exercise - at least occasionally.....like I said, I like to enjoy myself!

My name is Greetje Kamminga, I am 57 years old, which is over 40, so I qualify for this site. Working 36 hours a week (or more) as Senior Communications Manager at a bank to earn the money I need for my addiction: fashion. Especially new things. I live in Haarlem, which is a beautiful old town, winning awards nearly every year for being the best shopping town in The Netherlands. (Holland and The Netherlands are one and the same. I add this as we are such a small country that not everybody knows this.) Married to Ron, who is creative and wunderful to me. We have a dog and a cat and a cute little house with a small garden. Live is treating us well.

My name is Ulla-Marie, I am 41 and I live in a village in the middle of Sweden. I am extremely interested in clothes and appreciate that there is a site that celebrates those who have crossed 40 and who may not live in a big city ... I like to dress a little over the top even on weekdays.

My name is Romey, I am 44 years old. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I'm a stay at home Mom and don't dress up nearly as much as I'd like. When I was younger I really liked to dress for fun but have found it more difficult as I've aged. I tend to keep to the classics but find it a bit boring. I'm hoping to learn a lot and try out some new things now that I've found this wonderful website! I really look forward to speaking to all of you and reading your ideas and comments.

A bit late, but here is my introduction: my name is Anja, 56 years old (in a month or so), living 6 months per year in Holland, a few doors from my good friend Greetje who also is very active on this forum. The other 6 months I live in Singapore and travel along with my husband wherever his job takes him. Although my whole family is in the fashion business, I have never really been 'into fashion' in the sense of following trends. I DO love clothes and dressing up and jokingly call myself the queen of pimp and accessorizing. I am a low end fashion mixer and matcher, loving colors.

Hi, I'm Louise, 44 and living in the UK with my husband and 3 children under 8. Think of myself as stylish rather than fashionable and if I had to apply a label it would be 'English Eccentric' eg hats, velvet and tweed waistcoats in the Autumn and Winter. Feel a bit lost in the Summer but in Spring like to wear navy linen with brighter accessories. Tend to prefer plain colours rather than pattern, perhaps because I think of myself as a city girl who loves the country rather than vice versa, and in the city florals look feeble (I think). With plains I like to wear semi precious beads and silver; don't really wear much gold jewellery. Have garments I've kept for 20 or more years and still wear. Am quite strict about which colours suit which season eg browns/plums etc in the Autumn then in January they're put away until the following September. Also like to be liturgically correct at church eg wear quite sombre clothes in Advent and Lent; no red until about 20 December and in Lent, Spring clothes on Easter day but nothing too bright until then. Love natural fabrics eg good leather boots, silk scarves and don't really do fake at all (except last week I had a semi permanent hair colour for the first time as finally decided that the 'silver' should lurk within for another 10 years...

Hi, my name is Marianne, I am 64 years old. So a lot of years over 4o . I am a grandmother of a 12 year old grandson. I think I don't dress like a grandmother. My daughter is a stylist for celebraties, I like to think that she got that from me. And I have a Son. I used to like to wear nice cloth and did try to look fasionable. But in 1998 I was diagnosed with Multiple Scleroses, so I am spending my day's in a wheelchair. I still try to look nice, but if you want an outfit to work you need length. I have a sitting down figure now. I wear trousers or treggings with jackets or nice sweaters. High heels are ancient history, flat shoes are a must. I really like to visit your site, because it gives me a glance of fashion and ideas. I am wearing 3 colours at the time, like you proposed.
