Post Which blazer should I buy?
on: February 20, 2012, 02:30

A navy blazer is a priority on my shopping list for spring, and I've found two that I like and are well within my budget, and the quality of both jackets are similar. As you can see, one is a bit more trendy and the other one is a more classic style (it looks black in the picture but is a dark navy). Both brands usually fit me well. Although I think I should go for the classic one, I really like the other one as well, and I have trouble choosing between the two. What do you think? I'd really appreciate your feedback on this one :)

Hard choice Nanne. They both look really nice. As you mention the first one is very basic and probably easier to combine with a lot of outfits. It's probably also easier to wear loose. The second one is trendy but still has a classic vibe about is as well. More of a challenge to wear lose I would think. Do you wear gold jewellery? And can you picture some outfits with this one? This jacket will make more of a statement and will definitely make you look hip. I like trendy things so may pick that one, but it's really up to you and how you would want to use the jacket.

It is a hard choice! Both blazers would fit well into my wardrobe, but I probably should try them on first and choose the one with the best fit - and the one that looks best worn open. Thank you for your feedback, Sylvia!

I have a blazer like your top one and it is one of those items that you can combine with everying. The bottom one is harder to combine I think as it is already calling attention to itself. So you cannot add a lot. But with plain colours like white or red it is no problem. My advice: buy the both hahaha. (I am nearly bankrupt as you might guess.)

Greetje - you know, I would like to have both and they're not very expensive so I can afford it. On the other hand - do I really need two navy blazers in my closet? I wish the bottom one came in cream, because that's also on my needs-list for spring:)

You are right, so do what you said: try them on first and take the one with the best fit. I also agree with Sylvia that the bottom one will probably be harder to wear open. And it depends whether you already have a similar black or blue jacket as the top one. As I think that you should have good basics first before you buy a trendy one. Not that I act on that very much...... I usually go for the more striking things which leaves me with a wardrobe full of things I cannot combine as each piece draws attention ot itself.
