Last Friday shoe retailer Charles & Keith opened their new store in local shopping center Ngee Ann City with great applomb. For the occassion they had invited a host of regional celebrities and the press and public came out in force! I had the pleasure to attend and mingle amongst all the fashionable people. One of the lovely ladies I met is Yoshiko Kris-Webb, a writer, model, blogger and mother who wore a beautiful long gown acquired at local retailer Tangs.

I wore a new silk skirt that I bought recently in San Francisco, Cos shirt together with a Tara Locklear necklace (more on that later this week) and I premiered my colorful shoes from Chie Mihara that I found in Berlin.

As you can tell, the shop was packed.

Since Charles & Keith had invited a host of celebrities there were plenty of photographers and when a major celebrity stepped in, things got a bit frantic.

Here are just a few of the local celebrities in attendance, actresses Zoe Tay and Fann Wong.

And here is supermodel Liu Wen, the first Asian model to walk the Victoria’s Secrets fashion show. She also featured in campaigns of Burberry, Alexander and Calvin Klein, amongst others. She is pictured here with Preview Philippines editor Daryl Chang, who sported a great funky haircut!

I also like the haircut of the lady on the left. Of course all regular readers will know my friend Anja, who sported her signature colorful florals.

I enjoyed chatting with Amanda Low, who is the marketing strategist at bubbamama.com and I loved the funky outfits of both these ladies.

The lady on the right also sported one of the most forward fashion shoes of the evening. And she was actually able to walk in them!

Another celebrity that I had the pleasure of talking to was Bryan Boy. He is one of the most famous style bloggers of the internet, who gets invited to just about every major fashion show and mingles on a regular basis with the likes of Karl Lagerfield. He was actually very nice and really downplayed his celebrity when I asked him about it. He was very diplomatic in his responses to some of my questions though. When I asked him who his favorite designer was, he replied that he liked them all! I quite fancied his necklace, which was from the male line of jewellery of Charles & Keith.

After all the celebrities had arrived at the shop we went outside to a special tent that had been setup for the fashion show. Below are just a few of shoes on show. I particularly like the black and white shoes and the small booties.

After the show we got treated to champagne and some fantastic music so pretty soon we were dancing like it’s 1999. Needless to say both me and Anja had a great time!

Hope you had a good weekend too? Which celebrity would you like to meet at a party?

Thanks Dana for your nice feedback!

Looks like a fun event. You are looking great. Love the shoes and the way it compliments this stylist necklace. I’ve been considering buying a similar skirt in tan for fall. Is yours leather? This is an inspired outfit, all the pieces could be worn so many ways.

No, leather was on my wish list, but this one is actually better for Singapore. It is made of silk. So very thin and airy for Singapore!

We had a wonderful evening. The whole event was WOW in so many ways. And dancing the night away was so very fun!

Sylvia

Yes, fun times!

Rebecca

I love the simple but chic outfit which is highlighted by those fabulous shoes and great necklace. You look wonderful!

Sylvia

Thanks Rebecca. That was indeed my intention. Keep the outfit simple and let the shoes and necklace be the main eye catchers!

Oh I wish I could have been there with you guys. This looks like a super event. My goodness … So many gorgeous women! Unbelievable.
Love your outfit, really fun shoes. And necklace. You have been doing very well on your travelling. Your skirt is something on my wish list too. And I suddenly remembered 8 have something like that for summer. Not worn yet this year.
And do I see a new hair cut? Looks good, although I am still a fan of longer hair.

Forgot to say I am actually glad I am not in Singapore…. Would have bought myself so many shoes… Terrific shoes of these designers.

Sylvia

Yes, you would have loved it.
I think you missed one of my posts (posting 5x week again) where I showed you my new haircut: http://40plusstyle.com/before-and-after-i-went-to-the-hairdresser/

I LOVE your shoes!!! I have a pair of Chie Mihara shoes that I bought a few years ago. They are Mary Jane style, but with a cute ribbon instead of a strap and buckle. I love the designs!

Sylvia

Interesting that you know the brand Rita. It was completely new to me…

Rita

I came across them a few years ago in a dept store in Washington, D.C. Not a lot of stores carry the brand.

What an exotic event! Love your outfit – put together so well! I love the short haircut too of that gorgeous looking lady – I did that just over a year ago – the hairdresser couldn’t quite figure out what kind of look I was going for but I quite liked it! It made my hair look so full and silky! (I needed less of a double chin tho’!!!) Wow, most of those girls are soooooo thin! Did you see the little socks that the lady with the funky haircut/shoes was wearing?! :-)

Sylvia

Yes, that was a fun touch too. Very hot to wear here in Singapore! I guess you just have to suffer a bit for fashion…
