Readers of this site will know that I’m a fan of wearing a short dress over pants. They are also an excellent way to wear your leggings if you want to be very comfortable in your outfit or dress very casual.
I needed a very casual outfit to see my son compete at a tennis tournament. There is no point looking too overdressed on an occasion like that when everyone else is wearing shorts and t-shirts. This outfit is is similar to last week’s in many ways. It follows the same kind of simple formula. This time it’s trousers (instead of a skirt), top and a few accessories to make the outfit more interesting. I love to add texture with accessories and I love the black and white trend, so it features my trusted black and white belt again.

This is a simple mum on the go outfit for me although I’m sure that some of you will say this is far too formal for a casual outfit. Since it’s black and white, it looks chic really quickly.
But it’s just a simple (cheap) cotton blouse and cotton skirt, which are old and both from Zara. The black and white ballerinas, make this look chicer, but in the end they are just flat shoes. The black green Heleen van der Meer bag adds extra colour. The black and white belt from Anne Fontaine is the final touch and to my eye it gives this outfit extra polish and allure. I set you another dressing challenge almost a month ago and entries are due on 4 February. In order to give you some inspiration and motivation, I started mixing and matching some scarves of my own. Of course I got my inspiration from Anne’s scarf CD, but also from my own how to wear scarves Pinterest board.
