This is a really nice dress in a great colour that is totally on trend for the coming season. The cap sleeves are perfect for many women that like to hide part of their upper arms and the knee length is very flattering for most women. I also really like the asymmetrical seams (can be seen when you zoom into the picture when you click through). It perfectly fits into one of the major trends this season: blue and black. Just combine with your favorite blazer or cardigan and your black pumps. Currently available at Zappos for $129

This is a perfect dress for me. I love the style, that neckline, the little cap sleeves, and especially the color.
It can be dressed up or down and can span late Spring through early Fall. Very cute!
Yes, that is what I thought. A versatile dress in a splendid colour!
Thanks for sharing this dress and site. I did not know Zappos, but had a look. They seem to have great things. The dress you featured is very nice, but needs a lot longer sleeves to hide the parts of my arms that I don’t want to show. Never mind, there are lots of women over 40 who do not have that problem (yet… , she said with a villainous smile on her face…) LOL
I did see some other dresses at Zappos with long sleeves that look very tempting.
Zappos is one of the best online stores, especially for shoes, but increasingly more clothes as well. Yes, I will be looking out for dresses with long sleeves as well for all you ladies who want to hide their arms or just get cold (that would be the case with me). If you see great options I should feature, then let me know!
I saw that they also sell Not Your Daughters Jeans. Quite a lot actually. Also in plus size and….. (this is for you Suzanne) 51 pairs in petite!
Thank you Greetje! I will check them out.
A very pretty dress. I’ve noticed a trend in visible zippers lately. I’m not sure I love that, but I’m seeing it everywhere and even bought a skirt with that feature. Interesting that the model is highlighting the zipper with like-colored shoes.
I, too, get cold all the time (especially in over-air conditioned buildings!) but I have plenty of cardigans I can mix and match to do the job!
Yes, that is how I envisioned this dress for Fall. Combined with a black special cardi….
You are right Rita, the shoes match the zipper. Had not noticed that. I don’t mind this trend much, looks quite cute. But I may not hurt me sitting down.
(And it is very dating.)
LOL…my eyes always start at the shoes!
Oh Rita – we are truly “shoe sisters”! Many times I can not remember what a friend was wearing – not even the color – but I can always tell you what shoes she had on.
Funny, I’m the complete opposite. Always look at the clothes first.
Sylvia, I think it’s the engineer in me that makes me appreciate a really well made shoe.
Cap sleeves generally do not flatter most arms. They cut your arm off at the biggest part.
Yes, that is true also. Still, they can look great on some women as the sleeves can balance out some wider hips.
The dress is very pretty except for the cap sleeves. I don’t understand why they even put cap sleeves on clothing. I don’t know anyone who actually prefers a cap sleeve. Just put a real sleeve on it already!
I quite like cap sleeves. I have not got the arms for them anymore, but 10 years ago (at the age of 48) I would have worn this and would have felt very classy.
I prefer cap sleeves to sleeveless…somehow I thinks it makes a dress/top look more polished, and that little bit of sleeve helps keep me a little warmer (oddly enough). Definitely don’t want the sleeves to fit too tightly, though.
Interesting Karen. I never realised cap sleeves were so unpopular with some women…
Also, I really dislike 3/4 length sleeves, especially on a sweater. I buy sweaters to keep me warm and that includes my wrists. In a top with a 3/4 length sleeves, I am either tugging the sleeves toward my wrists, or shoving it up to my elbow to get it off my forearm. There I definitely agree with you on the need for a real sleeve, Karen.
Yes I agree with you on 3/4 length sleeves. That really cuts off the arms and serves no purpose really.
